Fabrication
I came up with this idea to get me back into thinking with portals and to test out the upgrades I did to my homebrew CNC Mill.
The design was laid out in Solidworks, and all the G-Code was generated using the BobCAD plugin. The base part was machined from a solid 3” square cube of Aluminum where all the faces were milled and the inside was hogged out. There’s a bottom plate screwed in place that has a BlinkM/MinM RGB LED inside. The heart inserts are .375” Lexan frosted by the machining and buffing with Scotchbrite.
